The Advent season is a time of change, hope and promise. It is a time when we remember when God turned our word for good. A time when we give thanks for God's ultimate gift to us - the gift of God's only son, sent to live among us and die for us so that we might receive eternal life.
For ELCA World Hunger, Advent is also a time to give thanks for the many ways your generosity allows this church to accompany companions and partners as the turn their world around year after year, participating in God's transformation in communities near and far.
This Advent, as you reflect on the awesome ways the birth of Christ has turned your world , we ask that you prayerfully consider giving a gift that has the capacity to change the course of someone else's life.
The gift of a school uniform for a girl, for instance, is more than just clothing on her back. It is a sign of hope to her and her family that her future is taking a turn for the better - a turn toward education, self-sufficiency and sustainability. A turn toward a life full of promise and hope.
We invite you to join us in this life-changing work. Visit ELCA.org/GoodGifts to view our online catalog of giving and opportunities - gifts that are perfect for sharing the joy and hope of the Advent season with our neighbors around the world.
