The CGS Library was made possible through a bequest from former member Nancy Bryer. This funding allows us to purchase books, curriculum, and other periodicals for the faith formation of our community.
The church’s library has a variety of volumes covering many topics. The books are arranged on the shelves in Dewey Decimal order so that items on similar topics will sit together.
There are reference books for biblical studies as well as other religious topics. There are also general works on religion and theology, several versions of the Bible and other related works in the fields of sociology, psychology, elder, teen and family care and other social and health issues. In addition, we have some biographies, self-help guides, general works and some fiction. Materials are also available on videotapes and dvds for children as well as for adults. The library also offers storybooks for different ages of children including bible stories geared for their understanding. Stop into the library located just off the Great Hall, browse our collection and pick up something to read (or search our collection online from you computer). The library is open on a self-serve basis anytime. Just sign out for the books that you take and return them in a timely manner. We ask people to check out books mainly so we can keep tabs on which titles are actually being used. |
The content of our library is made possible by the curation work of our amazing librarian Paul Thomas.
