Your Wedding day

We celebrate with you the forming of your new family! Marriage is a gift of God, intended for the joy and mutual strength of those who enter it and for the well-being of the whole human family. We’re honored to walk with you as you become married. Here are some introductions to how we might partner with you for your wedding ceremony.

Your Wedding

Officiant
Our pastor would be glad to officiate at your wedding. The pastor requires a minimum of 5 one-hour sessions prior to the ceremony for preparation and planning. These sessions, the rehearsal, and the ceremony are included in your contract with the pastor. To contract with our pastor does not require that you be affiliated with Christ the Good Shepherd or the Christian Church in any way.

​Wedding Music
Our congregation has musicians on staff who can cover a wide range of musical needs and desires. We also have the ability to amplify live music as necessary and to play all kinds of pre-recorded music. Our musicians have relationships with soloists and instrumentalists and are also willing to coordinate with the musicians of your choosing. ​

​Wedding Expenses

Facilities
If your ceremony takes place in our sanctuary, it assumes use of the following spaces and will be contracted accordingly: 
•    Sanctuary 
•    Fireside Room (dressing room)
•    Upper Room (dressing room)
•    Patio and Narthex
•    Audio/Visual systems 
•    Rehearsal the day before the ceremony
•    Some Sanctuary décor 
Receptions and additional events around the wedding may be included per the fees and agreements found in the CGS Facility Use Agreement, or here on the website.

Pastor 
For the services of planning and officiating at a wedding, our pastor contracts at a flat rate of $800. $200 is due at the first meeting, the remainder is due at the rehearsal. Sliding scale and hardship relief are available. You will negotiate and contract directly with the pastor.

Liaison
For the services of coordinating usage of the facility, the liaison fees range from $300-$500, depending upon the amount of time required. You will negotiate and contract directly with the liaison. 

​Musicians
Our musicians’ fees range from $175 to $250 for a wedding. Fees are dependent on the amount and type of music, additional musicians, necessary rehearsals, and length of event. Sliding scale and hardship relief are available. You will negotiate and contract directly with the musician. ​

Getting Started

​The information on this page is intended to be an introduction to a partnership with Christ the Good Shepherd. In all things we do, we live in grace.
To begin, please call our church office and speak with our Community Coordinator. 
Your event will be reserved when the office manager has received the necessary paperwork and deposits according to the CGS Facility Use Agreement.

Member Information

​Those who have become members of our congregation have entered into a covenant relationship which calls our pastor to preside at our worship services, including weddings. Other officiants and participants may participate at the discretion of the pastor. This same covenant relationship extends to our staff musicians. Other musicians may be included or substituted at the discretion of our staff musicians.  
Members are required to contract with a liaison for the purpose of facility coordination and administrative tasks associated with hosting their wedding. 
Being a member of Christ the Good Shepherd means that all fees associated with weddings (facilities, pastor, musician) are waived as a part of your covenant relationship with the congregation. The costs associated with weddings can be found in the CGS Facility Use Agreement. Honorariums to Christ the Good Shepherd, the pastor, or the staff are acceptable and recommended on the basis of your ability. Additional participants may require fees and all such arrangements can be made in partnership with the pastor and staff.
